چکیده
Abstract Naïve realists hold that the phenomenology of veridical perceptual experience is in part constituted by environmental objects subject perceiving. Although naïve realism well-motivated considering cognitive and epistemic roles experience, it considered difficult to explain hallucinatory imaginative experiences. This paper provides three arguments address these explanatory problems systematically on behalf realism. First, I argue imagination view hallucination (IH), which states hallucinations are involuntary sensory imagination, can be applied total neutrally matching hallucinations. Second, for conjunction IH representational (RI), according (including hallucination) (shortly RIH). Third, coherently integrated with RIH. finally present an integrative model perception, from perspective combination

Although it has been something of a fetish for philosophers to distinguish between hallucination and illusion, the enduring problems for philosophy of perception that both phenomena present are not essentially different. Hallucination, in its pure philosophical form, is just another example of the philosopher’s penchant for considering extreme and extremely idealized cases in order to understan...
متن کاملNaïve realism without disjunctivism about experience.
I argue that the possibility of non-perceptual experience need not compel a naïve realist to adopt a disjunctive conception of experience. Instead, they can maintain that the nature of perceptual and hallucinatory experience is the same, while still claiming that perceptual experience is presentational of the objects of perception. On such a view the difference between perceptual and non-percep...
متن کاملNaïve Realism: Folk Fallacies in the Design and Use of Visual Displays
Often implicit in visual display design and development is a gold standard of photorealism. By approximating direct perception, photorealism appeals to users and designers by being both attractive and apparently effortless. The vexing result from numerous performance evaluations, though, is that increasing realism often impairs performance. Smallman and St. John (2005) labeled misplaced faith i...
متن کاملFace Hallucination and Recognition
In video surveillance, the faces of interest are often of small size. Image resolution is an important factor affecting face recognition by human and computer. In this paper, we study the face recognition performance using different image resolutions. For automatic face recognition, a low resolution bound is found through experiments. We use an eigentransformation based hallucination method to ...
متن کاملLearning and Visual Hallucination
It is generally recognized that learning is a useful tool for solving vision problems. However, at present time, neither learning nor vision is a well understood problem. It is even less clear how one might be able to put the two together. In this paper I will attempt to study one small aspect of this problem of using learning in vision. In particular I will study how learning might be used for...
